With the canvas before him, Stephen Peng uses instinct and his larger than life energy as a song for his emotions.

“To me, creation is a mysterious process; my heart and hands will lead in the initial stage, but gradually the painted image and the creative environment will take over to guide me on.  Like an invisible hand, they take me into a wondrous and mystical realm. It is as if I am entering a place where no one resides: only the painting image and the paint brushes remain.”

“I often see different people, witness different events. They may be transient and occurring in an instant but they induce in me a desire to create.  The multitude and ‘variety’ of people in my journeys represent different colors or fluid motions that are transformed, and end up in an altered appearance and image in my works.”
